Target Audience: Zinc is a rock station playing a variety of classic and modern rock. A large playlist allows the station to stand out by not sounding repetitive.
A typical Zinc listener is primary 25-49 years old and has a strong connection to the late 80’s and early 90’s (with a formative year of around 1988/1989).
They grew up listening to the 70’s and 80’s and loved the alternative / grunge scene in the early 90’s. Modern musical taste reflects that. They are into U2, The Kings of Leon, Nickelback, AC/DC, Matchbox 20, Queen, Cold Chisel but don’t mind turning up the volume when rock / pop artists like Katie Perry and Pink come on the radio.
Our music and Announcers are bright, hip, real and entertaining. The whole family can listen to 106.3 FM and relax knowing our content is responsible whilst maintaining our comedic and quirky concepts. Our programming is primarily focused towards young adults 18-39 year olds, slightly more female skewed, who enjoy the latest hits from all contemporary genres including Pop, Top 40, New Music and R n B. 106.3 FM also appeals to those who enjoy more music across their ‘workday’ without the clutter of long ad breaks. Although we are based in Townsville, we have an extensive coverage area with listeners throughout Townsville as well as Ingham and Cardwell to the north and the Burdekin and Bowen to the south.
